Make Conditions real
I think that it would be so cool and make the game more fun if conditions actually effected your screen as well as ur charecter.
current conditions:
* Bleeding, -3 Health degeneration
* Blind, 90% chance to miss
* Burning, -7 Health degeneration
* Cracked Armor, -20 armor, minimum 60 armor
* Crippled, 50% slower movement
* Dazed, twice as long to cast spells, spells are easily interrupted
* Deep Wound, 20% less maximum health, 20% less healing on this
* Disease, -4 Health degeneration, contagious to all adjacent of the same
* Poison, -4 Health degeneration
* Weakness, 66% less damage dealt in combat, -1 to all attributes
most of these wont be able to show a screen effect.
But. ones like Daze,Blind,Poisen,Burning u would.
Daze: could make ur screen like the heavy drunk.
Blind: could make ur screen uber messed not totally blinded but make it very poor visiblility.
Poisen: the outer edges of ur screen are green like you care poisened.
Burning: the out edges of ur screens are Red or burning effect.
Desease: could make you screen go rly wobbly around the edge and more as it last longer. or jsut the same as Poisen.
Bleeding: can have a red effects around you screen.
Cripple/Cracked Armour/Weakness and Deepwound i dont know but its just an idea i think it would be cool
im gonna get some photoshop and have a look at what i can do to the ffects to make it look like what i had in mind.

Why would anyone want this? This negatively effects your gameplay. Even if this feature was optional, why would anyone want a cool effect to negatively effect their gameplay?

I think if there was the option to turn this on/off it would be a neat little idea - I wouldn't use it in PvP, but in PvE I'd be all for this.

Sure, it makes cool effects. It still negatively effects your gameplay. The con outweighs the pro by far.
How would you like playing a caster while someone blinds you so your screen gets "messed up"? How would you like playing a melee character while someone dazes you and your screen goes blurry? My point is blind isn't supposed to effect casters, daze isn't supposed to effect melee. This is really unnecessary.

QFT.
The conditions already are a negative effect for you, why add more negative effects to those same conditions

This thread reminds me of Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube. Awesome game. If you never played it, scroll down to the "Sanity Effects" in that article. Toying with the player works great in a one-player game.
Guild Wars is not Eternal Darkness, however, nor is it single player. It is multiplayer, and competitive, and adding this to the game just adds needless frustration. In fact, it would likely lead to degenerate play; ie: you would apply conditions on players not based on their harmful in-game effect, but to instead cause them to lose visibility. I'm sure griefers in RA would love this, especially "Blind."

I remember when that game came out on XBox, actually, but I didn't know about the PC version. I've never owned an XBox. I'd completely forgot about it; thanks for reminding me!

I'm sure anyone who was in their right mind would disable such visual effects when entering any form of competitive arena, to avoid such issues.
It does all seem a bit silly, but hey, everyone has different desires, I guess.

Ok, make that. I don't care, I have to play with post-processing turned off.
So more handicap for those with better machines.

Cracked Armor: a small crack appears in the corner of your monitor, increasing in size everytime the condition is applied to you.
Cripple: you try to get out of your chair to get something to drink but fall flat on your face.
Weakness: you no longer have the ability to keep your head from smashing into the keyboard.

No, the effect of this is more annoying that useful.
While I am all for better condition visualization, but on my character, not on my screen.
Actually dripping sizable amounts of blood on the ground, while bleeding.
Coughing and looking awful when diseased.
Running with both hands stretched out in front while blind.
And missing arms or legs while suffering from deep wound.
That would make conditions real, it this was a first person game then you'd have a point, but this is a team based game where people that do more than just TAB+SPACE need to keep oversight in.
Although, I imagine [skill=text]Decapitate[/skill] would be rather odd if it where to be that way.

Not that I dislike your creativity, but do you know how many people will just create groups with those skills and how annoying it would be...
